Senior Vice President and Head of International Shipping Operations
Captain Ian T. Blackley is Senior Vice President and Head of International Shipping Operations. In this role, Captain Blackley is responsible for the operational management of OSG's International Flag fleet of crude oil tankers, product carriers and LNG vessels, oversight of more than 2,500 international seafarers and technical management and training operations based in Athens, Greece; Newcastle, United Kingdom; and Manila, Philippines. Captain Blackley is also Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of OSG Ship Management (UK) Ltd., positions he has held since 2005.
Since joining the Company in 1991, Captain Blackley has held numerous operational and financial positions including Assistant Treasurer and Vice President, Treasury. His treasury responsibilities included managing OSG's global banking relationships, the negotiation and management of debt facilities and other investment projects. Captain Blackley led the Company's strategic study of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) business and is a board member of OSG Nakilat Corporation, OSG's LNG joint venture with Qatar Gas Transport Company.
Captain Blackley began his seagoing career in 1971 with Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O), serving as Captain from 1987 to 1991. He holds a diploma in Nautical Science from Glasgow College of Nautical Studies and holds Master Mariner Class 1 license.
