Operating the safest, cleanest and most reliable fleet in the industry is OSG's number one priority
OSG supports a variety of non-profit organizations and marine industry associations in the communities where its employees live and work.  Shoreside employees and seafarers alike organize events for local charitable causes, volunteer for environmental and other worthy causes and provide hands-on help when disaster strikes.

The outpouring of support by OSG staff and seafarers to help flood victims in the Philippines in the fall of 2009 was recognized by the American Chamber of Commerce with an "Every Peso Counts" award

Charitable Giving
OSG provides financial and other support to causes at the global and local levels with a maritime industry connection, green/environmental efforts, or social needs in locations where OSG mariners or office staff reside. A corporate contributions committee manages requests and contributions, which are accepted for review through employee recommendations.

Disaster Relief in the Philippines
Nearly 75 percent of OSG's sea staff reside in the Philippines. Following Typhoons Ketsana and Parma, which hit the Philippines one right after the other during the 2009 Pacific typhoon season, OSG quickly came to the aid of its staff and the communities devastated by severe flooding and mudslides. Employees throughout the Company generously donated cash and supplies. OSG House worked with the American Chamber of Commerce to distribute supplies in the first few days following the floods.

International Coastal Clean-up
Each year employees from OSG offices participate in the International Coastal Cleanup sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy. This annual event is the largest effort of its kind, involving thousands of volunteers throughout the world working to clean up coastal areas, all on the same Saturday in September.
