Captain Panos Hatzikyriakos is Head of Safety, Quality and
Environment for OSG Ship Management, Inc. In this capacity, he oversees
the development and adherence to the Company's safety management system,
establishes and monitors key performance indicators across the fleet
and sets the safety and environmental strategy for the Company.
Captain Hatzikyriakos joined OSG in 2005 from Stelmar Tankers Ltd.,
where he was the safety and security manager and prior to that, marine
superintendent. Captain Hatzikyriakos started his shoreside career with
Eletson Corporation, where he held various positions including marine
superintendent, commercial operator and vetting coordinator. Captain
Hatzikyriakos also served as owner’s representative during the
construction of the first double skin hull ULCC in Japan and four
product tankers in the United States.
Captain Hatzikyriakos sailed on board various types of tankers from
1984 to 2000, beginning as a 3rd officer and earning his Captain’s
License Class A in 1999. He is a member of the Greek Merchant Marine
Captains Association and the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection
Association (HELMEPA).
Captain Hatzikyriakos graduated from the Greek Merchant Marine
Academy of Hydra and holds a master of science degree in maritime
operations from Liverpool John Moores University. He is a certified lead
quality auditor by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Bureau Veritas (BV).
