The Cadet Jacob Peabody Scholarship was established in 2025 by Overseas Shipholding Group to honor the memory of Jacob Peabody, an exceptional cadet from Maine Maritime Academy who sailed with OSG. Jacob exemplified professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for the maritime industry.

The Cadet Jacob Peabody Scholarship is intended for upcoming high school graduates from Tampa Bay and surrounding areas who plan to attend any of the U.S. maritime academies. The scholarship is designed to support students as they begin their maritime careers by helping to offset tuition and other academy costs.
